James Charles Huston, age 90, of the Martinsville community, passed away Saturday, April 13, 2024, at Clinton Memorial Hospital in Wilmington. He was born April 16, 1933, in Clinton County, the son of the late Casper and Ethel Mae (Conger) Huston. James took pride in serving our Country in the United States Army and in his work as a welder with the Champion Bridge Company in Wilmington. An avid dancer that loved to "cut the rug", James enjoyed playing the Jew's harp and listening to Old Country and Bluegrass music. He also loved the outdoors... hunting, fishing or just relaxing under a shade tree and drinking a cold beer. Above all, he loved his "large" family very much. James is survived by his children, Jeannie (Estel) Stone of New Antioch, Michael (Fern) Huston of Sabina, Donna (Mark) Pariseau of Wilmington, and Russell Huston of Martinsville; numerous grand, great grand, and great-great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife Shirley Jean Huston; daughter, Debbie St John; son, Joey Kerns; and numerous grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 18, 2024, at Brown Funeral Home, Wilmington. In recognition of his service to our Country, Military honors will be accorded by the American Legion Post #49 Honor Guard of Wilmington. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until services begin at 2:00 at the funeral home. Brown Funeral Home is assisting the family.
